Well even though we are fast slipping from Autumn into winter, the eagle rays are still hanging around off Naama Bay beach which is cool. The other cool bit is that they tend to hang around the least interesting part of the dive. So just as you are thinking "enough of the mini sand craters" along comes a pair of little eagle rays, gliding past, the epitome of elegance. ;D

Yes.. we had an eagle ray at the beach again yesterday.. my students were doing a discover scuba dive and they get to see eagle rays.. how cool is that?
In fact that was my second eagle ray this week.. we had one earlier in the gardens.. they are just sooo graceful.
Maybe we are coming back into ray and whale shark season?? Or am I simply being too optimistic?

They're back! Yes we got two lovely eagle rays yesterday off the beach. In fact I think it might be the two juveniles that have been hanging around for the last few months. They are growing up though, so I am sure they will soon be venturing out a little further. Hopefully they will be replaced by some new ones! Hehe...
We have a bit of a plankton bloom at the mo, with lots of slimy algae hanging around, so great for all the filter feeders!!! Ooooh. ;D

Ok it wasn't off the beach, but on Tuesday we had a massive eagle ray glide past us at Ras Umm Sid... glorious!
