Yay! I spotted some new stone fish on the Dunraven dive!
Everytime I guide this dive, I am under pressure to find stone fish, as the reef that we finish our dive on after exiting the wreck is famed for its many stone fish. The downside is that they are amazingly well disguised and even when you know where they are, they can be sooo will hidden you would not belive.
Thankfully the current was actually slightly against us the other day (I know I hate going against the current too) so it actually helped slow us down. I was determined and found what must have been two of the most well hidden stone fish around. One was snuggled up alongside a patch of coral exactly the same colour as the fish (it was actually quite big, but perfectly camouflaged). The second was bright pink but because it was nestled inside a hole, was well hidden from view.
I am sure that at first a couple of my divers suspected that I was just pointing at coral pretending, but eventually they saw the fish in the picture. ;D
