Well going from the vast to the tiny!!!
After whale shark frenzy it is once again another local site that is enthralling us all here in our little haven.
Those of you who have been here before may well know Middle Garden as being great for a nice bimble with generic very pretty sea life, all the usual suspects, but no dramatic drop offs or majorly striking features apart from a couple of coral pinnacles.
Anyway on one of those pinnacles we have discovered a beauty of the smaller variety than the whale sharks! In fact, much smaller. We have a resident ornate ghost pipe fish there! Actually in fairness, this guy is actually faaar from small for his species. It is about 4 or 5 inches long and is just hanging around in front of the pinnacle under an overhang. Of course all the usual glass fish are swarming around, and you could be forgiven for missing the existence of this little chap completely. Just because you are not expecting it.
So there are currently always a little gaggle of divers to be found hanging about in front of the pinnacle, some straining to spot the thing, others, guides desperately passing on their new found spectacle.
