So finally the plankton bloom is over and the tunicates and jelly fish are once again occasional blobs in the water. Those of you who have been diving in Sharm over the last couple of weeks will know exactly what I am talking about. So once again the Red Sea has that crystal clear viz for which it is famous, and true to form things are getting bigger. Yesterday we saw two turtles, a giant moray, blue spotted ray, giant trevallies, big black and white snappers (the snapper wall is not yet here though) a shoal of barracuda and more, all of this on our first dive of the day. Today at the same site three turtles were seen too, as well as another couple on the surface "making babies!" while another one watched! Well I haven't heard of voyeurism before in the animal world. So the big stuff is just around the corner. All we need now is for the sea to warm up a bit and we can ditch the dry suits. If you see anything bigger than a trevallie be sure to let us know here, we're waiting with baited breath for that first shark of the year. ;D

ok so I have been a bit slack!
I certainly did see something bigger than a trevallie and I am not alone!!!
Before going home back in May I saw what I think must have been the first shark of the season on the corner of Jackson reef by the lighthouse. Sat in a flying current deeper than we would usually be at that point in the dive, we saw an awesome white tip just cruising along against the flow. He even did a little return run for us. ;D

Well it is all happening now.. We have had, hammer heads on the back of Jackson, white tipped reef sharks on Ras um sid even, turtles in Tiran and the viz is for miles.. summer is truly here The famous turtle Dave is still out and about... he has even made it right down to Ras Zatar where we saw him earlier this week. And we even had a whale shark in Ras Mohammed a couple of weeks ago. Now is the time for diving in Sharm.
