So if you are uk based, you might have seen a bit of a furore going on in the pages of Diver magazine regarding the sale of shark cartilage pills by health food store Holland and Barrett.

As you can see, they are still on sale despite letters and comments berating the practice.
Apparently the response from the company was to say that they do not use an endangered species of shark from which to collect this cartilage and that until it is registered as endangered (usually a bit of a last ditch resort to keep a species alive) they will continue to sell this product.
The magazine received a whole sackload of responses to this comment, among which not one was in support of Holland and Barrett. You can add your voice to the chorus via the BiteBack website. Wow I am feeling positively militant this morning!
