Opportunity to gain underwater fieldwork experience as a marine conservation volunteer diver with the Silmar Project Kenna Eco Diving is responsible for two Silmar Project research stations near L’Escala, Girona, Spain. We are the only Silmar Project coordinators offering subsidised residential placements for international volunteer divers to assist with this marine conservation research. As a non-profit, research oriented organisation already working with marine scientists and volunteer divers, we became voluntary coordinator for the Silmar Project during its Girona pilot phase in early 2009. Our aim is to study marine ecosystems on the Costa Brava section of the Silmar network in order to increase the understanding of the current pressures upon coastal habitats along the Catalan coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Taking part in the SILMAR Project as a volunteer diver presents an ideal opportunity for Biology/Ocean Sciences students and divers who wish to contribute to marine conservation to work with marine biologists and gain valuable underwater fieldwork experience. Subsidised places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Attachments:
