Well, I am not one to really create an issue, however I have just managed to resolve the problem of my new Stinger dive computer. As guides and instructors, we recommend this computer, or in fact any Suunto computer to most of our students and guests, and until recently, I would also recommend Scubatec in Sharm as a great place to buy these. However in light of my recent experience, whilst my impression of Suunto has increased greatly, sadly I will no longer be relying on Scubatec as a supplier. This is a shame, as until now, they have been fantastic, with great customer service. However when I bought a computer that was quite clearly faulty (it fell apart after the first dive!) I was accused by the sales representative of having unscrewed the bezel myself! There was me expecting a profuse apology and an instant replacement. OK, maybe not the apology, but they could have replaced the computer and dealt with the faulty one themselves resulting in not only one regular, happy customer, but a sale of around a grand sterling that was terminated when a couple in the shop heard our ensuing argument. Hmmm that kind of stuff is priceless. But who am I to tell people how to run their businesses. Anyway, moaning done and dusted, I can only praise Martin Morgans from Leybourne Lake Dive Centre and Suunto who took the issue of my computer on, and sorted the whole issue for me. Anyway, I now have my Stinger back and can return the Gekko that I had been borrowing from a mate... think I did about a hundred dives on it! I owe him big time!
