Hi everyone I was wondering if anybody had any advice or tips for me. I am going on my very first liveaboard next week to The Brothers, Elphinstone and Daedalus (Red Sea). I am really excited, but also a bit nervous because I have never been on one before. Any tips you have please let me know many thanks

Hey there Lady Scuba!
So sorry it has taken me a bit of time to reply to your message. Long story, but have not had my usual internet access for a couple of weeks! Eeek!
As for the liveaboard, I hope I am not too late, but just enjoy!
If you are with friends, I would say try and talk to everyone on the boat, rather than just sticking to those you know. And just be open minded, the biggest problem on a liveaboard is that a boat can be a small place if people clash. Of course this is highly unlikely... at least you are going to a superb location, with some awesome diving.
It is the perfect time of year too, as the roasting heat has subsided a touch but the sea is still warm.
Do let us know how you get on when you get back.

Hi Everyone
Just got back from the Red Sea, the trip was wonderful. The diving was excellent and the boat was fab. The crew and dive guides were outstanding and made sure we had the best trip we could. I would recommend this trip to everyone! (Simply the best, The Grand sea serpent)

Hey there Lady Scuba,
Welcome back. Glad to hear you had a good trip... it sounds like you got the good weather too. We are getting a bit of a southerly wind here at the moment.. so down there is probably a bit lumpy too!

Cool, I would be very interested in hearing what the diving itself was like around Marsa Alam.
Is it true that the famous sites we all know of in the "deep south" are only acessible via liveaboard trips, or are there some good sites closer to Marsa Alam itself?

Alot of the diving in Marsa is Liveaboard but there are some really nice sites that are a short boat ride. Some one I spoke to on the liveaboard said they have done shore diving in Marsa. There are some nice reefs and the chance to see the resident dugong. I am sure that day boats go to Elphinstone wich is a really nice dive,Good chance of seeing sharks here like Oceanic White Tips. Sites like the brothers and Daedelus are liveaboard sites but worth a visit if you can. Daedelus was amazing we saw Dolphins, Threasher sharks, silvertips, white tip reef sharks and there was an Oceanic White tip that stayed with us for the whole day. We were really lucky because apart from us there was only one other boat so we had the reef to ourselves! This was the only problem I found on the Brothers too many boats and too many divers but still there was plenty to see.
