So just call me the jonah or albatross!
So this summer the big stuff really seems to have kept its distance from me... don't ask why. Maybe there is a limit to how many big things you are allowed to see in a year and I got my quota in early with five sharks all on one dive in February.
Well the last two weeks I was guiding and saw a few turtles, and had lovely dives, but nothing huge, nothing special.. apart from a very distant sighting of two very deep hammerheads at the end of 20 mins in the blue one day.
I even went looking for the two large green turtles that are munching on the seagrass meadow off the beach the other day and couldn't find them!! Well... I guess it was quite late in the day, maybe they had headed off to bed... hmmm
In the week that I saw nothing, others spotted a manta ray, silver tip sharks, hammerhead sharks, oceanic white tips the lot really...
Maybe I need to make some kind of prayer to the shark gods. Who knows..
But aside from all that, I have had some lovely dives, seen plenty of scorpion fish, crocodile fish, shoals of snappers and jacks and barracuda, so I really should not complain about it too much!! ;D
